1 : Arrive
Delhi
Arrive Delhi and check in to your preferred hotel
for an overnight stay.
Day 2
: A full
day tour of Old and New Delhi.
OLD DELHI - A sight-seeing tour
of Old Delhi would entail visiting the Raj Ghat
- the memorial site where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated;
Jama Masjid - the largest mosque in India and
the Red Fort - once the most opulent fort and
palace of the Moghul Empire.
Enjoy the cycle rickshaw
ride from Jama Masjid to Chandni Chowk.
NEW DELHI
- An extensive sight-seeing tour of New Delhi
would include a visit to the Humayun's Tomb, the
Qutub Minar, a drive along the ceremonial avenue
- Rajpath, past the imposing India Gate, Parliament
House, the President's Residence, Lotus Temple
and would end with a drive through the Diplomatic
Enclave.
Day 3
: PATNA
- RAJGIR
Transfer to airport to board flight for Patna.
Arrive and continue journey to Rajgir enroute
visiting Nalanda (90 Kms.) which was a great Buddhist
center. Continue drive to
Rajgir (19 Kms) where the first Buddhist Council
was held after Lord Buddha attained nirvana.
Day 4
: RAJGIR
- BODHGAYA
Early morning visit to Gridhakuta to see the Rising
Sun and worship. Visit to Bimbisara Jail, Venuvan
& Hot Spring. Enjoy Breakfast at hotel and
proceed for Bodhgaya where Lord Buddha attained
enlightenment. Serene and
quiet this tiny little village, holiest among
holy places is Bodhgaya, Where the quest of Prince
Siddharth was fulfilled after years of seeking
the truth and the saga of Buddha began. He attained
the supreme enlightenment and became 'The Buddha',
the enlightened one. Thus Buddhism was born here
under the Peepal Tree. The Prince had been wandering
in search of supreme peace for long six years
hither and thither. But it was at Bodhgaya only
where his holy mission was achieved. Bodhgaya
has naturally developed into the most sacred spot
for Buddhists from all over the world, especially
the affluent south East Asia.
Day 5
: BODHGAYA
- VARANASI
After breakfast
proceed to Varanasi - The 'Eternal city'. The
eternal city is situated on the banks of sacred
Ganges.
VARANASI - Varanasi earlier know
as Banaras is the World's most ancient living
city. Sunrise on the river front, as seen from
a boat, can be spiritually uplifting sight. Crowded
with temples, and it's labyrinth of streets, the
city attracts the maximum number of tourists.
Not only for its temples, Ghats and Ganges, Banaras
is also a prime carpet manufacturing cities in
India and has produced many exponents of art,
music, This evening is at leisure. Overnight at
Varanasi.
Day 6 : VARANASI
Early morning drive to Daswamedh Ghat
and take1 a boat ride on the sacred river Ganges
to see the cremation Ghats and witness the living
traditions of one of the world's oldest and most
important religions. We recommend you to start
at 0500 hrs. for the best lifetime experience.
For you to appreciate this remarkable city, we'll
transfer you to the banks of the River Ganges
before the sun rises. Board a boat with your guide
and proceed to the middle of the river, where
at sunrise the sight unfolds before you. Thousands
of faithful come daily to the banks to bathe and
pray while in the background, temples and palaces
rise in tiers from the water's edge. Then return
for a walk through the cobblestone streets along
the banks of "Ganga". As shops are opening,
the place now becomes a beehive of activity as
the faithful are coming and going. Visit Kashi
Vishwanath Temple while returning to the hotel.
Return for breakfast to the hotel and later visit
Sarnath, 10 km from Varanasi,
where the Buddha preached his first sermon in
the Deer Park, contains the most impressive remains,
as well as a modem temple. The
Dharmarajika, Chaukhandi and Dharnek stupas are
outstanding. There are also the remains of a monastery,
and the beautifully polished Lion Capital of Ashoka.
Afternoon proceed to Kushinagar
- a small dusty town in the eastern part of Uttar
Pradesh, Kushinagar is the place where Lord Gautam
Buddha breathed his last. The religious significance
of Kushinagar can be perceived by the fact that
a large number of followers visit this place everyday.
This is also the place where Lord Buddha preached
his last sermon and said, "All things must
pass. Decay is inherent in all things".
Day 7 :
KUSHINAGAR - LUMBINI - SARAVASTI
Proceed to LUMBINI,
the birthplace of the Buddha, located in 1890
after being untraced for 1,500 years. Lumbini
grove, the sacred site of Lord Buddha's birth
is today a small village in Nepal, 27 km from
Sonauli on the Indo-Nepal Border. Three
hundred years after the Mahaparinirvana, Emperor
Ashoka visited Lumbini and erected a pillar there.
This pillar, though broken, still remains at the
site. It is known as the Rummendei Pillar after
the earlier name of the place (modern name Rupandhei)
in Nepal. Proceed to Sravasti,
the capital of the ancient kingdom of Kosala,
has the honour for sheltering Buddha for 24 rainy
seasons in the Jetvana Gardens. The
city believed to be founded by the mythological
king Sravast, has age-old stupas, majestic monasteries
and several temples. Buddha is said to have performed
some miracles here. This
holy place also has the famous Anand Bodhi tree,
an offspring of the one, said to have been planted
by Buddha's main disciple.
Day 8 :
Morning Visit to Sahet and Mahet where Lord Buddha
performed his Miracle sitting on a petaled Lotus
multiplying 1000 times. Proceed to The City of
Nawabs - Lucknow.
Lucknow
was abode of Nawabs of Awadh. Their regal pastimes
and pleasure were legendary. Fond of song and
dance, they nurtured Urdu verse as well as Kathak
school of courtly dances. Their monuments excelled
in the use of arches, pavilions and domes. Leave
for sight seeing tour visiting Kaiserbagh - is
Wajed Ali Shah''s most magnificent and spacious
contribution to Lucknow. This sprawling complex
consisted large, medium and small structures in
the form of large rows of living quarters, royal
mansions, baradaris, and cupolas. Almost half
of the Kaiserbagh has withstood the vagaries of
the time and has somewhat survived. Continue sightseeing
visiting Aminabad - It''s a market with an old-world
charm. Crowded with shops selling everything from
truck tyres to mouthwatering biryani, it has the
look of a permanent fair. Hazratganj
- was built by Amjad Ali Shah. He was buried at
Imambara Sibtainabad in the western part of Hazratganj.
Day 9
: LUCKNOW
- DELHI

your flight to Delhi, transfer to International
